On the 22nd to the 23rd of March us TY’s were taking over to the Sliabh Sneacht Centre, for an Creative Engagement Project.
We arrived there the first day at 9 o’clock in the morning, we met Bernie Murphy a textile artist and designer from Buncrana. The project was based on The Laurentic Ship that sunk 100 years ago in the Lough Swilly. Over the year us TY’s we have been working on the Laurentic project.
As inspiration for the textile project we used our research we did on the Laurentic. We brainstormed ideas, and Bernie showed us different styles of textiles, we could incorporate in the piece. It was amazing seeing the process of the piece come to life.
